Going Long and Hard.

You should be able to do that with a fat bike on the beach, yea. Not sure if you can pass the DEP plant at the bottom of Guyon via the beach. And Great KIlls harbor you will have to go around the back of the harbor and pop out onto Mansion Ave. Beach is nearly contagious after that I think.

I have the beach section all worked out now. At low tide you can cross the water under the plant, at least by my standards 😂

Volunteer Day at Barnyard Sanctuary. This place is pretty cool. And huge. 300ish rescues on 170 acres. One of the many places taking a hit from Tariffs and lack of funding as people’s disposable income dries up thanks to our lord and savior, the great King Cheeto.

Went and sorta did this route again. But also not.

Hard sell to get anyone to drive me to Trenton for the start so I just rode from home on the canal. I booked camp at the same spot at Godfrey Bridge so it was gonna be a long ass day.

Ran into my first hiccup when Whitebog was closed for the season. Maybe 50ish miles in so I could’ve used some water.

Stopped and explored the brick factory because I rode right by it last time.

First water stop was at one of the bathrooms in Brendan Byrne.

Sand was still sandy in the spots that were sandy. I was hoping it was cold enough to firm some of the trails up but that’s not how sand works.

Missed Lucille’s again because it closes at 2. You can see here that I also broke my bottom cage and lost a bottle somewhere. This kinda sucked on a route with no water stops.

Once the sun set it got brutally cold. Temp said 30ish but with the wind it felt so much worse. Mick’s is also closed for the season so my dinner stop before camp was a no go.

Stopped at the little park just before camp to make a camp meal and ended up in my puffy. Wind was blowing through that so I decided not to stop there and ride into town instead. And by town I mean 20 miles off course into Tuckerton 😂

At that point I basically rode all of the cool section and my wife was coming to meet me in AC Saturday morning so I just had her meet me in Tuckerton on Friday instead.

Less than 12 hours for the day so I think with an unloaded bike and a little bit of luck, I can make a run at the FKT on this maybe in December.

And possibly some extra curricular activities to make up for people possibly falling into the water 😂

Speaking of water, I was able to cross at all the spots. Tide was way out this morning. Hopefully it’s a lot higher next week.
