Good Spots for SUP?

Afte years of one-off renting, I bought an inflatable stand up paddle board this summer. I used it quite a bit on the Barnegat Bay (and once in the ocean) and now I'd like to SUP in some other bodies of water this fall. I'm specifically looking for good lakes, ponds, other bodies of water in Northern/Central NJ which could be fun. Fun = about 2 hours paddling and 3-4 miles.

I'm optimistic that the MTBNJ community has some good recommendations so I can continue the SUP for a few more months!

I saw bunch of people on a body of water between the Wanaque reservoir and Greenwood Lake. Looking at a map could be Monksville. The area with the dead forest looked like fun. I also got an inflatable this year so will be following this thread. The kayak was getting to be a pita loading and unloading x2.

I bought an inflatable this year. With the seat, it’s a pretty solid replacement for the kayak. And way easier to travel with and set up.

@stilluf are you in ocean county?

How about Barnegat lake and manahawkin lake?
Cedar creek?

Central - Raritan river, current could be challenging or an adventure haha

Sunset Lake in Mine Hill but it's more like 1 mile and then float and chill. Right next to Dickerson Mine so go for a ride and then hit the lake from the same parking lot.

Farther afield and not even NJ but I've seen paddle boarders at Lake Nockamixon and it is allowed. Big lake and supposedly the whole thing is SUPable. Another ride/SUP opportunity!
