2025 Tour de France thread

Plus I am hoping Vollering has revenge on her mind, should be fun.
Thoughts on lack of control?
Smaller peloton so harder to do
They have not mastered bullying yet.
Also some of the bigger teams lost many people. UAD is down two, Uno-X is down to 3 riders.
She definitely has revenge on her mind. Had a caption on one of her instagram posts after a crash on Stage 3 this year where Labous and another teammate helped her to the line that alluded to last years crash with no help from SD Worx teammates after that crash. She wants this race, but so does PFP for VLAB, as she came back to the peloton from MTB this year with that express purpose, to win TDFF.

UAD down three riders, but that hasn't stopped Squiban from going 2/2 the last two days. Stage hunting after ELB had to drop from the race seems to be working ok for them.

Definitely harder to control, but FDJ Suez had 3 riders in the top 10, so they have a bunch of cards to play, but obviously Demi is the leader. But with Muzic and Labous, they have been controlling moves that were threatening to Demi pretty well.
AG Insurance has done a fantastic job controlling the GC moves with Sarah Gigante who just got 3rd last week in GC at the Giro Donne is absolutely smashing it on the hills and I wouldn't be surprised if she is in the top 3 when all of this finishes, and with her teammate KLCP in yellow they have the ability to control some of these GC moves easily.
VLAB have been great about keeping PFP in good/safe position in the flats and going into the hills.

Tomorrow will be making sure the GC group makes it to the bottom of Madeleine and then from there it is an exercise content to the top... We will see what this all brings. My money is on Vollering, but a PFP or Gigante win of the GC would be awesome as well personally.

First year following and my rooting interest is in Davis and Connie's DIL. Had to look up all your abbreviations and didn't see her mentioned. What are her chances to move up today, or will she get crushed by the final climb? Definitely more interesting than the men's race with two stages to go. Are there individual time trials like the men's race? Seems they are bringing back the team TT next year, great to see it back.

Sorry for the abbreviations!
I don’t know who their DIL is. Or even who they are?
There are ITTs but they didn’t have one in this tour. There was a TTT in the Vuelta and an ITT in the Giro for the women this year.

Lol, Davis Phinney and Connie Carpenter's daughter in law, K.Niewiadoma. They were both top American cyclists in the 80s when I was a kid.

I’m a fan of the sketchy goat roads the lady race uses.

Also nice to see a climbing stage won on a climbing bike. These companies out here whining about dead bike SKUs like the Aethos and then never put a rider on one to show it off? Best climbing bike in the world, rides Tarmac instead and looses 6 minutes 😂

Couple notes:

Did anyone else find it odd how they kept comments on how the riders had their hair and the camera would zoom in on it? I think it started with that fancy braided bun thing PFP has and then shifted to others. I watched a relatively small part of the coverage and comments were made multiple times.

I was also disappointed in a bunch of social media posts about how skinny PFP was and how it isn't a good role model for women. She was quite thin but the second tier commentary about it is annoying.

I hadn't noticed, but I also generally avoid social media comments... PFP doesn't seem any thinner than other racers who focus their training on climbing, male or female.

I think it is relative to her normal size, it was in her post race interviews.

Haven't you noticed the world is gone mad lately (loosely speaking, it's been for a while) ?

I know. Yesterday I was reading about Marley, who is having the opposite issue. She's been losing weight and eating healthy because she had some issues and the girls are crushing her on the web calling her a sellout and all kinds of shit. You can't win.
