2025 Tour de France thread

Mt Ventoux? What My Ventoux. Top 7 KOM places today. And that's just the people who post to Strava.

I think Pogacar would have scored a better psychological win if he just sat on Jonas' wheel for 21.5km with a blank face.

As much I am not traditionalist, I loved watching the last stage as it was: champagne, pictures, then the best sprinters in the world throwing haymakers at each other. I think the "take GC before the climbs" was lame but the right thing. Then Tradej goes for it with no teammates (which I assume was a statement of it's own) then Van Art beats him at his game. I couldn't even take a minute to find a chair, I watched the last 3 laps standing up. I think if they don't take GC before the climbs, they're going to have civil disobedience where 165 riders freewheel to the end.
10 times worth the $8 I paid Peacock

Thoughts on the Femmes tour? Are the rules different for GC designation? They seem to rely more on points. Having so many riders within 2 minutes of the leader is worth following. Though the production is rather poor. The extended videos on YT are hard to follow and I been watching the shorts.

I’ve watched every stage. GC is all the same but there’s much smaller team presence so it never looks like anyone is in control. Everyone in the race is a national, Olympic, or world champion so they never have a group with the same jerseys on like you’ll have in the men’s race. The commentators are trash so you have to turn the sound off, which doesn’t help 😂

It’s super close but also the expectation is that on the Col de la Madeleine there will be big time gaps. Vollering only lost the overall by 4 seconds last year after a big crash in stage 5 where she didn’t have any teammates to help get her up and to the line and made up over a minute on Niewiadoma on the final stage up Alpe du Huez. Tomorrow should be a pretty deciding day for GC.

Plus I am hoping Vollering has revenge on her mind, should be fun.
Thoughts on lack of control?
Smaller peloton so harder to do
They have not mastered bullying yet.
Also some of the bigger teams lost many people. UAD is down two, Uno-X is down to 3 riders.
