East Coast Greenway, Job Opening

The East Coast Greenway is looking for a full time director of its NJ, NY operation. www.greenway.org. Deadline Feb. 18. For those not familiar, this non profit is similar to Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. The ECG mission is to build a traffic free bike/walk route from Main to Florida. It has been referred to as the "urban Appalachian Trail". For example, the Canal Path south from New Brunswick is a link in the Greenway. Having been following the organization for over 10 years now, I can say this is real. They have made steady progress on this long term project and have support of State and local Governments.

Yup, part of it runs through Metuchen. They were there one time with tents and tables with info about the project. Here are some pictures with one from years ago of me and my son on the bridge over US 1 in the Menlo Park area.
