Day 6
Looking for some bigger saddle time so I went for this one. It was windy on the flats, buggy on the climbs, and got hot towards the end. It was a great day to be out!

Not gonna lie, I think I just threw up in my mouth a little. 👀 That’s a hell of a ride in this weather sooooo early into the 31/31…. Hope we have a lot of activity today so my pathetic post later today will be a few pages away from this….😁

Lol. Thanks! Legs felt decent for the first 3ish hours. After that the climbs were much more painful as the heat turned up. To make it worse I was depending on my favorite stop in Califon but it was closed. I had to wait until Chester to refuel and finish the ride.

First mountain bike ride - at Nassau. Not a soul on the trails and nice and cool in the woods - tho felt like FL when I stopped to take a pic. Anywho, what's the deal with all those annoying hard things of various sizes on some of the trails. Rocks is what they call them? Good thing I didn't start out at the sourlands - I crashed twice the first 5 minutes! Speaking of annoying, gnats all over you on the parking lot side. Oddly, none on the other side.

5/20+ Category and 5th day in a row.

My plan to ride early failed as expected due to the availability of the Snooze function on my smartwatch.

I ended up with a very small window during lunch to make the hour and get back to take a shower before the afternoon MS Teams meeting marathon. My legs felt like crap and I almost bailed but one of my WFH crew was around and was going to join me since he's just back from vacation and hasn't ridden a bike in 1.5 weeks.

Definitely phoned this one in and was drafting as much as I could to make the hour requirement. Plus if you didn't already know its like a convection oven outside.

Based on work and my wedding anniversary coming up it looks like I will have to skip a few days but still in it for 20+ days.
