THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING
I'm all talk, no substance. Although, my average was under 16mph and my low gear on the Tarmac is the same as my SS so it might've been about the same either way. I was doing like 25mph along the river for a few sections though.
Woulda been faster on the singlespeed #facts

But if you can make it to the end of 1/4 mile in 1/10 the time u can roll easy and recover before you kill the next 1/4 mile. Gears are ded.

You need to take a singlespeed for what it is. It’s basically like doing 30/30s all day long if you want to go fast...which u can.

that doesnt sound efficient
30/30s is probably skewed a bit but my little theory goes like this. How do I ride my ss faster avg speed/lower heart rate by doing the “pulse”(5-10 ultra high cadence spins to zero spins alternating equally) vs just pedalling at a high cadence steady? Try it some time. That’s also why SSers can where down geared guys in long races. By doing this Inam going fast yet still have the power to hammer the climbs. On gears you are always going pretty deep no matter what and climbs tend to be slower.
