I knew the MTB would be an issue as I've been very conscious of avoiding destination locations as I'm taking care of older folks. Did keep my daily streak going and currently closing in on 4 months.
I'm jumping in on the August 150 / 450 challenge. I've been taking care of a 90 year old Uncle and Mother in Law - so have been avoiding crowds. Therefore, I haven't been doing group or park rides. I think I'm now comfortable hitting some of the bigger, less popular parks on weekdays. I rode...
I just saw this today. Did the July every day challenge so I'm off to a good start. I need motivation to hit more dirt. The 150 will be the hard number.
Since Monday:
Dirt - 0
Road - 166
Xtrpureguts - Don Kelly (Strava)
Day 31
Congrats to all the participants. Thanks for helping to keep my July streak going. I think I’ve completed each of the last 3 years. I’ll likely keep going for a while. I’ve gotten good at blending easy and hard days to avoid the overuse injuries.
Day 29 little local loop with tired legs that felt fine once moving.
Day 30
Off to Uncle Jerry’s for doctor appointment, ride and Martini 🍸 Night.
And beer for the night
Day 27
Easy local loop. Stop at my local golf course. Will have to eventually get to the famous golf course further west with the nice gravel riding.
Day 28
Pretty much winged this route. After Echo Lake Park decided to hit a few others. Slipped into the Roosevelt Park outdoor stage area for...
I’m still in it from a riding perspective. My photo game is terrible. I’ll partially blame it on how sweaty my hands and gloves are getting with the humidity. I have stopped several times and been unable to open my phone. Yesterday for a Dinosaur on the Clark side of Rahway Park. And today in...
Day 21
Waited till late in the day for this one. Even had to charge up the lights.
Snuck into a viewing of Frozen 2 at the local community college
Day 22
After 30 Years Liverpool finally lifts the cup as English Premier League Champions. Tried to push on this loop for the boys.
Jordan...
Days 19 and 20
Yesterday was likely the easiest paced ride in ages. Closed the garage door and was rolling down the driveway when I realized no camelback. So with the heat and feeling lazy. Just kept the pace dialed down and enjoyed the ride.
Definitely dehydrated following today’s ride...
So I think day 17 and 18.
promised myself a more ambitious ride yesterday. So I’m a runner that turned to mountain biking and has recently Got a road bike. (Gravel bike). I’ve done a couple 100k when feeling good. But yesterday was the first planned long ride. Loaded up with classic MTB...
Day 16
Was just having a chill day. Did some shopping. Accepted delivery of a new outdoor rug. Got it set up. Watching some English Premier League soccer. And suddenly realized at dinner time I had not gone riding. So went out real quick on the go to local loop.
Day 15 started well. Picked up my sister for a pre Liverpool game run and bike. Parked at Loantaka Park and she went for a run and I headed off to MadisonDans stomping ground for an hour loop.
Got home and had a nice lunch. Things fell apart 20 or so minutes into the Game when Liverpool handed...
