    Nassau Trail conditions

Went yesterday, 4/26. Conditions were great. No wet spots, good traction. A+

Help me decide which to build

Thanks for the tempting offer, but I'm a bicycle hoarder. Still hanging on to the Redline I raced back in 4th grade....for no good reason. I look like I belong in the circus when I try to ride it. Someone has a stash of NOS Barracuda's, and they are unloading them on EBAY right now...

Help me decide which to build

It is small. Barracuda considers it a 14" frame, as measured from BB center to TT center. It's 16" from BB to the top of the seat tube. Their frames were stretched more than most, so it's longer. Since I'm proportioned a bit like an Orangutan (30" inseam, 37" arms) the general geometry of the...

What have you done to your bike today?

Threw a new to me EBAY suspension fork on my old GT Serviced some 22 year old hubs that have likely never been touched before on my craigslist kid hauler. Tuned derailleurs, cleaned and lubed chain, and gave it a simple green wipe down. Considered changing cables, but decided they're good...

    help with trail design

+1. It looks like you could really launch off the right side of that thing. Potentially into the tree to the left, but that could simply add to the excitement.

    1st Kids Bike??

We have a balance bike, but my kids never used it much. When my oldest took a real interest in learning w-out training wheels, I just took her pedals off and left the cranks on. She was able to use it like a balance bike like that.

Help me decide which to build

Thanks. I just don't like interrupted cables. Maybe because I grew up riding dirt bikes, but bare sections of cable seems like a poor idea on anything that is likely to be ridden in mud. On the flip side, the full housing and zip ties sure as he11 doesn't look as nice as the stock routing...

Help me decide which to build

Klein is built. Kind of anticlimactic, but with fresh parts I feel good about being able to abuse it some more without fear of things literally falling apart.

Almost finished my Klein rebuild.... ....But then King Neptune distracted me

Help me decide which to build

Quadra 21r was the bees knees back then. I was still rocking a softride suspension stem back then, so I guess I've always been a tad behind the times. Got shift, levers, brake levers, BB, cranks and pedals on tonight. Free time is at an all time low between work and kids. Kills me to only...

Help me decide which to build

Nah, just an old dresser. It's just too damn cold in the garage, so I've been working in the unfinished side of my basement. The color is not bad, but the paint on this thing chips incredibly easy.

'97 Pulse Race. It lacks the pretty welds of earlier ones, but I love this bike. I have a limited basis for comparison, but it climbs so well. I Started putting it back together last night. I switched out the original elastomer fork for a newer air fork a couple months back when I...

Help me decide which to build

Thanks. Was definitely rewarding. I snagged an old Rockshox Duke on eBay last night shortly after I posted this to remedy my fork dilemma. Now on to rebuilding my "modern" bike, a '97 Klein. I guess I'm stuck in a time warp or something.

Help me decide which to build

I picked the GT. used a mix of old parts I had on hand, some discount new parts, a $5 derailleur I picked up here from Utah not long ago. It ended up being a true low budget build. Finished it up last night. Hoped to take it for a few mile ride today, but had to settle for a couple spins...

    2/21-22 Weekend in Pics

It wasn't too bad. The sun and warmer air made it tolerable. Climbing down the rocks covered with melting snow in booties was interesting though. That spot has really been working well lately.
