    People of Allaire

I'm not here to talk about the people who don't say hi back (well I guess I did). I am here wondering if anyone else noticed the guy in full bib overalls carrying a crow bar? What do you do with a crow bar in ALLAIRE?

Fun story about kids riding their Schwinns through the Adirondacks in the 70s

Can you imagine a 240 mile bike ride as a kid?

    Allaire beginner rides for 2018...

Well, I don't think the dome will help tonight. The sky opened up. Maybe next time.

    Allaire beginner rides for 2018...

Assuming Mike still needs recovery time, I'll be going for a non-sanctioned beginner type ride tomorrow (7/17) at 6:00 PM. Pace will be easy. All welcome. No drop. I have only lost a person one time and I think he forgave me.

    Allaire Conditions

So those were your tracks I tried to follow in? I had ten miles of mud on me from 5 miles of riding,

Is buying a better bike worth it?

I should say that my "better" bike is in the range of beginner bikes for others. The budget was low, but the reward was very high.

Is buying a better bike worth it?

I'm here to answer that question, not ask it. My answer is YES. I started MTB with a Walmart bike with a turned-around fork (the fork was damaged so I turned it backwards to clear the frame and I thought I could "get by"). The JORBA guys at Allaire told me to never ride that bike again...

Send all your thoughts & prayers to Schilling

Chris is just a genuinely nice person. He is always positive with beginners (and not-so-beginners) and can ride as fast or as slow as he needs to. Chris and I worked a few trail maintenances together and he works as hard as he rides. Chris said I could make it over that root and I did. See you soon!

    do you stop?

Mid-Atlantic AAA (I think they cover all of NJ, but might not) will pick up your bike on the road if you are a member. You get the same coverage as you get with a car. I think 3 miles of towing is the standard, but up to 100 miles for the Plus members. I have not used this perk, but I see it on...
