I use the same safety glasses I buy for work. Lots of decent looking shades for under $10 per pair.

As far as I know (up to 2 years ago), the entire park is all bike legal! So ride whereever your wheels are pointing.

As far as regular single track goes there isn't any that I know of. No wheeled vehicles are allowed on NYS parkland. Some really forward thinking tree...
