I have a chance to ride here on Wednesday. Anyone have an idea if it would be rideable if it rains hard Monday? I’ve never been, no idea how it drains.

Satan ridge is closed for the season. You can still ride the rest of Nepaug. Ledges trail is still open which I think is still harder than satans kingdom. Paugnut/Burr pond is cool if you like slow tech. Probably not worth driving far out of your way to ride there.

If your looking for a place to 4x4, I’m not aware of any options that aren’t private property. October mountain and beartown allow moto and atv with mass ohv reg. For hiking I like alander mountain trail in mount Washington.

The test I’ve done for years is have someone turn the car over while you have a multimeter on the battery. If it drops below 10v it’s probably on its way out.

It’s all fight club, but people ride there every day and no one seems to care.

I bought an inflatable this year. With the seat, it’s a pretty solid replacement for the kayak. And way easier to travel with and set up.

Sorry, just saw this. Looks like you parked at ramp road, which I prefer. Litchfield turnpike is fine, just a little further from the best stuff. I got there once this year, and as I got to the end of ramp road there was an entire bear family chilling. I had my dog with me so I had no choice...
