What have you done to your bike today?

Wow, hope the bike is ok!!! It's so bizarre how that can happen.

So, I removed myself from consideration. They were very gracious about my withdrawing, stated my clinical reputation was very highly regarded (which was nice to hear). The clincher for me in making my decision was my patient I had the day before; autistic adult accompanied by mom, had him as a...

The 2 Vettes are absolutely gorgeous. That split bumper Z-28 is the hotness, don't see too many of those.

What have you done to your bike today?

My evolution as a home mechanic has been to watch the videos/RTFMs, buy the tool(s), and then try. That said, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that doing the MTB suspension stuff has been a huge learning curve. I bought this thing on Amazon, supposed to be decent. Yay or nay?

What have you done to your bike today?

Cut my first steerer tube. I was very meticulous, used all the right tools, and.....nailed it!!!! It was so nerve-wracking, but satisfying. This was on the "cheaper" Enduro fork. Next up is the new Sid for the Epic. That's going to also involve something else I've never done before; removing a...

    Financing the new stuff

Everything listed above is still available, listening to offers of course. I'm also adding in the following: Rockshox Sidluxe Ultimate RL 190x40- $325 I bought this with the intent of putting it on my Epic Evo, but from what I learned this isn't the best choice for clydes. While removing the...

Yea, as a clyde I'm really looking forward to using it. I have a de-Brained version of it in 32mm with 100mm of travel, but I always feel a bit undergunned on it. Has one spacer, never bottoms out, but it's always a concern. I think the stiffness of the 35mm will also be a great improvement.

Wanted to make the new Epic Evo a bit more downcountry, so I got the 35mm Sid with 120mm of travel.

    Career Advice

I don't think I'm in a rut, but I am definitely a bit more jaded by my job, mainly because of shitty staffing. I still adore what I do, which is the first time I can say that as an adult. I'm 53, certainly don't feel it, but I recognize I can't continue this physically demanding job forever, and...

Thanks for the response, Manny, and I hope things continue to go in a positive direction with you and your kiddo. Yes, I can always fall back to being a staff RN, although I may lose some seniority. That said, I will look to expand my clinical flexibility should I be offered and accept the new...

    Career Advice

I realize that this is almost as up there as asking for medical advice on the internet, but I really am conflicted and am trying to get as many unbiased views on this as possible, so here it goes: So, as some (most?) of you know, I am a RN in the ER, and was previously a CO. I love what I do...
