I definitely don't recall my TD rig weighing 68lb loaded :D That would not be fun on some of the climbs or heading down Fleecer Ridge. :D

That first loop is just so much fun, the second lap is just pain. A great day out on the bike, thanks Black Bear, including the bear wandering around near the finish line.

My lady and I were riding on the course on the 9th. Shame I can't make the race this year, there is a big crew going from the city though.

On big long races it only becomes a race against others in the last couple of miles. Up to that point it's you vs the course.

Skip cat 3 and go straight to cat 2.

I've done over a dozen dirt 100's now, I think the tech on the True Grit course is some of the toughest I've seen in a hundie.

The trails used for the Shenandoah 100 near Mt Solon are superb. Another hour south and the trails at Douthat State Park are also damn fine too. I'm heading down to NC in late May for some Pisgah riding and will be hitting the VA stuff on the way there and back.

The 500's normally are about 5f too high on their temps. My gf's does compared to my 800. Plenty of threads on the garmin forums.

I've ridden but not raced the trails at Lykens used for Rattling, definitely some rocky sections!
