Vermont Beer Suggestions (of the IPA variety)

I know that you can get it in NY now but Sip of Sunshine is one of my favorites. If your going up thru Mass you must try to make a stop at Tree House brewing. You can only get the cans there at the brewery and they are great! They limit your purchase based on what they have but buy the full...

    that's one tough bike

i buy it.. front ends on most cars these days are made of pretty darn thin and flexible plastic and if everything was just right it could happen. I would think that the guy on the bike would have to be moving forward when the car crept into him and the tire would have been putting upward...

Talk me out of buying a dirt bike

That looks great. I have wanted to set up a adventure bike and do some long rides but with my youngest being 6 months old I think I have at least a few years before I can get the time to do it. On another note this is the first time that I have seen this thread and I live in Essex and am...

    What tiresto use

Here is my two cents that no one asked for... Please note that I am just an occasional, intermediate rider so take this all with that in mind. In my experience north NJ trails are grippy and you don't need super aggressive treads, in fact I have had fun on the trails with mtb sized road tires...

    2018 lawn maintenance thread

I did the overseed in September and was watering every evening for about 20 minutes. The soil would still dry up in spots but it generally seemed about right to me. Clay soil sux. Honestly I debated digging it up to make a wood fired pizza oven in the backyard.... the neighbors would love that.

    2018 lawn maintenance thread

I tried one of those overseeders from HD last year and I was really hopeful... Hope was not enough. I may go the tiller route but I've got some roots to contend with. The other thing that I am considering is buying a truck load of top-soil to cover it all and start anew but its money and time...

    2018 lawn maintenance thread

I have spent weeks of my life and well over $1k on my back yard and aside from the garden beds I built last year it looks the same as when I started about 4 years ago. I fertilize, add lime, use an aerator, re-seed, re-seed again, re-seed with a seeding machine and drink plenty of beer. This...

Bike shop owner discussing online sales....

I had two experiences with my local shops last year. 1- I bought a new fork online and needed a star nut. Wanting to ride Sunday I drive over to the shop on Saturday to find that they did not have any in stock... I bought some chain lube, gave up went home and ordered one. 2- I broke a spoke the...

Please read: it is NOT ok

The major problem that I see with the "trail closed" signs is that someone (park staff) needs to be in charge of keeping it up to date and enforcing it once they do. What if Jorba made up some mountain bike "guidelines" pamphlets to explaining the best practices and a few links to group pages...
