The banks would be bailed out ... the employee Continues to receive their pay Or some sort of compensation work out. So if you own a small business and you have 10 employees you continue to draw their paycheck from the bank even though you’re closed and they continue to get paid maybe even a reduced sum but it’s more efficient than just to government checks to a lot of people who maybe don’t even need it right now.

Right. But that's a lot of moving pieces that need to be put in place. And government money is either real or made up, and they're only working with the made up money right now.

Otherwise we're asking employers to do something illegal, write paychecks with no backing and hope things work themselves out. Or do the right/painful thing and lay off their employees if they can't pay them. Or pay the employee for work not being performed and default on other financial promises such as rent/taxes/utilities/loans/etc.

Actually, that doesn't even seem to make sense. Banks get bailed out? Just give them a ton of $$? And how do we proceed to make sure that money goes to employee compensation as opposed to other bills? It's a convoluted solution.

How rare are alligator and wild boar attacks in the area? I see you post pictures and wondered how aggressive they are.

Eh the only people that get whacked by gators are dopes that go swimming or walk along pond edges with no clue what's around them. Pigs I find more scary - the boars get really big and they seem to be getting more used to people. I know of one guy mountain biking on trails I frequent who ran into a pig this year - it was a case of scaring a bunch of them and they ran in a panic - like deer sometimes in jersey

We have bailebanks out before... We bailed out the entire auto industry as well .
2008 Tarp program - $700 Billion

Yes, and I don't agree the banks were right. Auto industry was a little different, GM went bankrupt, Ford sold off a ton of assets in preparation. Most of it was backed. Bank bailout was a cash giveaway.

But this method is a Give-to-Banks-to-give-to-businesses-to-give-to-employees which is a direct bailout/cash-giveaway with no real return, through convoluted means. How about we just give out of work people $$ directly like the current system is setup...

During that same economic crisis we extended unemployment benefits, we can just do the same, much less overhead, without making bankers more $$

I agree with you on the banks they made sure every CEO got their bonus it was a disgrace. Something like this would have to be more regulated every dollar would have to be accounted for - sounds easy but it’s not.
But directly and indirectly both industries repaid the Bailout.

at least we don't have t share dogs (yet)... from a customer in Munich:
Looks like we got lock down in Bayern and Munich therefore from tomorrow for 2 weeks but a little more flexible. Crucially ppl can go out for fresh air or jogging alone. I heard in Russia its not possible unless you have a dog. So ppl are sharing dogs to be able to go out. Happy dogs!

And it seems there's an uptick in fostering pets:
Silver lining.

so my employers strategy was to wait for a case to pop up on one of our construction sites before shut down. (terrible!)
i knew it was sooner of later. today was the day. stop work 14 days. I'm sure it will be more.

Or hit that wonderful Ignore button, I suppose in your case you don't have that luxury 🙂 this thread is next on the ignore thread hit list.

Yeah, I need to stay on top of this. How I yearn for the days when Max just talked about his lunch and that was the most popular post on the board.
