Count me as one of the possible people with it that can't get tested. Thursday, came down with a headache. Friday, grab my stuff from work and wfh with headache, neck stiffness, body aches, slight cough and slight congestion. Weekend continued with all the aches and pains. Up until this point I was adamant that this was the flu. Sunday develop strange pain across my midsection which comes and goes but has been mostly with me to this day. Finally took temp on Sunday and it was between 100 and 101. Has continually fluctuated from around 99 to over 101 through today. Over the last few days, the headache, neck stiffness and body aches have mostly disappeared, but I now have a more prominent cough and at times just don't feel so good. I've never felt this bad for so long. Every morning I think I feel a bit better, but by end of day I feel like crap (I have been working nonstop during all of this). I've since reconsidered this as something other than the regular flu. I am not running a high temp and/or having serious breathing difficulties so no testing to be had.

I've somewhat isolated myself from my family, sleeping on the couch since Thursday. Tired of feeling like crap and wondering what other ailment I'll be having. Can't go anywhere just in case, but might never really know. Sucks.

Another day...

My sister is an art teacher....as im trying to finish a presentation for a call I had to do this morning, and dealing with my son screaming trying to do his math...she calls me...she calls me to whine about how hard it is not having to go to work and just give people art assignments.....if i could have reached thru the phone and punched her I would have. :)

Yesterday my son was a total mess with my wife as his teacher...I have a much different approach....Here is your stack of work.... would you like to see a television today? GET IT DONE!......This worked much better..albeit with some occasional tears. That said, tomorrow he gets my mom as a teacher....She used to rip my homework up and throw it at me if it wasnt neat enough...once when she did this I punched my kitchen table and yelled FUCK!!!!....she came in, slammed my head into the table and knocked me onto the kitchen floor.....I hope Bob is feeling motivated tomorrow :)

My wife sent me a pic of her all gowned up for COVID battle....she says I cant share the pic, but she looks like shes ready to start grinding metal. She says her unit is still less busy, but the adult side is like a typical busy day busy. Outside of that, nothing much interesting

I hit the road today....has to be the most amount of people I have ever see out jogging and even jogging in these sheep like herds...people everywhere.

My mom wanted to take my son to target to go shopping today....shes worse than a teenager. I mean im not afraid to go to target for a good reason, but shes going there to browse around store. she has the zero fucks given meter pegged. she laughed her ass off at me when I told her I was concerned for her health at her age.

Im down to my last 2 piece of ezekiel bread, fuck me! Shit is getting real over here!

Might. Funny word.

Might be 1x. Or 4x. Or 522x. Might is a vague word. The data we have is from yes, 4+X days ago, which I did mention last night. Is X=6 or 4 or 7? Who knows.

Like I said earlier, my thought is that the other side of this peak is April 6th. Are we going to see a peak of 8000-9000 new cases a day leading up to that? Seems high. But who knows.

But again, to the point about 50x or even 8x, if true, it lowers the mortality rate considerably. And we should be happy about that. Shit, the best thing that could happen is for us to find out that every single American has been exposed to it.

OK, so the 2,617 cases new in the US today would mean that of the "exactly" ( a very exact word) 4,265 unreported cases, there are only 1,648 new cases to be reported.
No social distancing in NJ? Seriously?? When did schools close? Concerts, sporting events??

One of the female speakers who appeared with the current President and spoke to the media over the last two days said that the best estimate of the death rate of C19 is 0.7%.

Dr. Joe said when I called him after dinner that it was impossible that there were currently fewer unreported cases than reported cases “due to the nature of exponential math.” Should I go with @Norm or Dr. Joe? Dr. Joe was reading “The Great Influenza” by John M. Barry, when I called him. What was @Norm reading?

So, a few things. First, to channel the Princess Bride. You use the word impossible. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Second is that nowhere do I state that there are more unreported cases than reported. I have said repeatedly that the more unreported cases there are, the better off this would all be.

You guys who keep saying we should panic more need to calm down. After 8:00 the Sleep Hammer comes out.

I understand his position but yeah, we have to tone down the dire reports. My wife yelled at me today for freaking her out ? (and she says I'm the strong one.) Sh*t is f***ed up and not getting better anytime soon.

Some good news: Was on the Palisades today and saw that they have a testing area set up in the Bear Mountain parking lot. National Guard and Police everywhere. There must have been 20 drive-through tents with cones set up in lanes to accommodate 100+ cars. Shit was surreal.

I think a key component to this is you can do these activities without sharing equipment. You can ride your own bike vs something like, let's say, playing football where by the very nature of the activity there is physical contact with other people and the equipment is passed around from person to person, potentially spreading the virus.
Anybody wanna have a coronabowl? JK. This whole thing works for me because I don't like people anyway. Same reason I like riding with people...im usually far away from them in the back. Lol.

Hmmm... I am hearing that exercise is an "essential" activity... shelter in place might not be too bad...

A friend told me today when he went to the gun store, they were busy as hell ! They sold over 300 guns in the last two days, not to mention ammo.
The store has all it's family working to help people, even grandma and grandpa are working.

you can make that two, maybe. Thursday my daughter comes down with a fever (102) and a very nasty cough. We keep her home from school on Friday. Kept my son home too just in case. By Friday afternoon he comes down with the same symptoms.

By Friday night, I come down with the same stuff. It moved through the house fast. Felt like crap and the only way I can describe how I felt was that I just open my mouth as wide as I can while someone sandblasted my throat and lungs. Really didn’t appreciate this bug, it made me feel like shit. Carried into Monday with aches and a fever, but not too high. Today, I feel the best I have felt since the start.

I wasn’t tested, my throat and lungs felt like absolute shit, my kids are still coughing but we are all on the mend. Called the pulmonologist. No testing to be done. Poorly timed chest cold? Who knows. My wife so far has shown no symptoms. At all. Which worries me because she has autoimmune issues and asthma. And I guess this thing can simmer for a while.

I was up late one of the nights not being able to sleep and I read off the symptoms and I matched them pretty damn well. After a mild anxiety attack, as I’ve been handling the rest of this, I just went to radical acceptance. This sucks, it’s bizarre, but it is what it is.

I have self-quarantined (other than my family unfortunately) since Thursday. At work, when HR was telling us all to work from home, I came to find out one of our employees had traveled to Italy the prior week. Walked around the office for a bit. Southern Italy though. Then one of the kids a town over tested positive, which shouldn’t be a big deal, except they were in a gymnastics class here in town. Around my daughter’s age. Again, nothing concrete, but alarming.

so take all that for what it’s worth. kids are mucho betterer. I’m fine. Let’s not get old folks sick.

switching gears from the doom and gloom and panic for a moment to try and see the good outcome:

my 17 year old middle son (with drivers license) has an almost brand new X Caliber 7 sitting in the basement for the last 2 years. This week he rode it more times than he has in the last 2 years.

We all went through the same. Tom at work was first, then Mike, then me and Eric, I passed it to my oldest who was out last week, then my wife last Friday. All exactly the same symptoms. My wife and son went to Medemerge and got meds for some Bacterial Infection. This was pre Covid Tests so who knows if we've had it or not. My youngest never got anything nor did Dennis.

We've sold hundreds of bikes this week and last weekend. So many people are actually bored enough to ride!!

glad to hear you guys are out of the woods. Hopefully it just passes over the rest of the house.
