2nd Annual Picnic: What's in your pot?

Shaggz

A strong 7
It looks like we will have a great turnout for the picnic and appreciate your offers to help feed this crowd. This will be a "Bring Your Own Beverage(s) of Choice" event. We had a LOT of great food last. Fortunately, the leftovers did not go to waste, as we were able to donate them to a local food shelter in Morristown.

We plan on doing the same this year. Here are the 4 categories, please try to serve 8, and we will "close" a category once it appears we have enough:

Chips, Dips Chains & Whips (pick foods)
Guac - El Z :D
Chips - the "G"s

Salads/Sides
Cole Slaw - Shaggz
Potato Salad - Ruth & Chris
Kickin' Soup - Rockstar :hmmm:
Dish TBD - Kimrey
Wings - IdBrian
Teryaki Sticks - CycloPath

Mains
Pork - Shaggz
Robson - Thai...red curry chicken
Chicken Nuggets for the kids - ChemGirl
Carole - Something vegetarian
Hot Dogs & Buns - Dawn, Joe & the Sussex Meat Company
Deli Sandwiches - the Seruttos
Hamburgers - Norm
6 ft sub - the Great Wazu

Desserts
Delish Baked Goods - Mare
More Delsih Baked Goods - BikeNBen

Condiments/Extras
Boz & Family - paper goods
Mustard, Ketchup, etc - the "G"s

Please drop me a PM or post here if you can help out with one of these.

*There are barbecue grills for cooking and warming food*

I think my serving size is good. A couple more batches and I'll get to 8. ;)

Your counter is so clean...so foreign to me, as I am used to cat hair everywhere. I promise I will clean my counter before I bake though for the picnic!

Who brought those 2 massive trays of crumb cake last year? That was the best ever!

I'll bring a tray of chicken nuggets for those kids (like one of mine) who feel nuggets should accompany every meal.

I'm also thinking along the lines of some sort of 'pick food'. Not sure yet, but an app that you can eat with your fingers. I'll post later when I decide what.

I assume Zoller is bringing the guac again.

We can bring the burgers or dogs or both. Have to make sure we have the basics covered.

El Guac-Oh

I beg to differ...:D

Es alpukat, a surprisingly delicious and refreshing Indonesian coffee drink, gets its richness and body from avocado. In Indonesia, they often serve it over ice, but we prefer the ice blended right in, milkshake-style.

Servings: Serves 2.

Ingredients
1/2 ripe large California avocado
1/3 cup espresso or 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
1/2 cup sweetened condensed (not evaporated) milk
2 cups ice cubes
2 teaspoons vanilla
Preparation
Scoop avocado flesh into a blender, then purée with remaining ingredients until completely smooth, about 1 minute.

Cooks' note:
• If you have a large (6-cup) blender, you can double this recipe and still make it in 1 batch.
