Today alaire. 1 hr 45 mins. No time to take it to 2 hrs. Rode with AM and husband, then by myself. Went back by the power lines, they built this huge boardwalk for the heavy equipment.

Went up to Stewart State Forest today. Conditions were great! Found a tick on myself after the ride. That didn't take long. So, just advising...check yourself. There were a couple of areas that someone has placed mega amounts of gravel and larger stone. Looks like something may be brewing between Orlando and Dawn. The 2 little cul de sacs each had about 10 piles (one course, one small gravel). I can only speculate that they want to fix up that really muddy section out there. I guess we'll wait and see.

A couple pics...

This is the stuff out on Dawn. The bike was upright and fell just as I snapped the shot. I took a few runs at it trying to make a line thru the piles. I was semi-successful.

FRIDAY!!!!!!! 3/11, 14.1 miles 1:32 moving time - https://www.strava.com/activities/514354808

recovery commuting since it rained last night and ive been going apeshit on the trails every day before and after work lately. i also re-upped my work "pantry" (hanging file drawer) and got a buncha shit i dont need.

i ate a lot of cookies again today, i have a problem. dont send help tho, ive come to terms with my disease and im comfortable with it.

Second dirt on the new bike - bolted from work a little early again and headed to 6mr. As @clarkenstein posted yesterday, the erosion and rutting is really bad - especially on blue in the field from the canal lot, red going to canal road, and some of white. Very deep gullies down the middle of the trails - gonna take a lot of digging to fix - hopefully @jdog schedules some sessions - he will need lots of help. Didn't venture across s. middlebush. First stopped to take out the tree Dave mentioned before the concrete bridge - there were three branches, the first one wasn't too bad, the second was a real workout, especially with my crappy saw (gotta get a better one)

Met Steve in the Jock's lot and talked a few minutes, then to canal road, turned around and did a shorter loop in the opposite direction. Stopped at the missing bridge at Blackwells mills road

Btw there's a little board across the water to the left in this pic so you don't have to go out to the road and end up as roadkill. Figured the bridge had to be somewhere down stream so took a look - about 150 yds or so it was in the middle of the flood plain (for some reason my phone decided to take a black and white pic) - it's in one piece and relatively unscathed - just went for a swim I guess

At the end, a pic with my new camobak and camo gear bag for @KenS and @Mumonkan - my next bike will have to be a camo fatty

Mellow pace at CCC after work, then a family ride with the boy when he got off the bus. I was stoked he wanted to ride. My legs weren't too stoked.

Random ride convo:
-Response to me saying "rad sunset eh bud?" "dad, you know the sun isn't really setting, the earth is moving around the sun, like, our bike tires are the earth, just spinning around and around only really slow".

-"Dad can I make my tree house into a lab" me: "umm sure, for what?" "I have a shovel, and my hands, they are all I need to find dinosaurs and bring them back again".

"Can we stop home to see if mom's pizza is ready? I've been waiting for pizza night since last pizza night"

It's great - tons of room. My old one was such a POS I could barely stuff my phone in it

It's weird, I've gone from not liking camelback's, to wearing a small one, to a bigger one, to a big camo one, to not liking them again. Full circle.

Its nice to see evidence that 6MR can actually be ridden. Nice job clearing the deadfall! That's hard work with a hand-saw. Sucks about that bridge. Pic actually looks cool in black in white.

Oh man I so relate. Too bad they are fattening 🙁

@rick81721 thanks so much for doing the TM at 6M

And once again, before I forget to mention:
March 11
Moving time 2 hr 15 min

Just a commute to and from.
Then met @knobbyhead Bob at Allaire. But I bonked. I was so lethargic and weak feeling I didn’t even feel like riding. Well until I got to a couple specific trails, then I woke up a little. But it was a “grandma” paced ride for the most part (as Knobby Bob put it). Good ride though.
