Did a few laps of the short track course after some final TM today. Then @gtluke had the bright idea to ride our bikes on the frozen lake to try and clean the mud off the tires. @Ryan.P and I waited to make sure the ice would hold Luke, and then we joined him out there. There was a nice slush layer on top that provided great traction, and before long they were doing wheelies and we were all doing power slides on the ice. I wasn't paying attention at one point and did manage to crash, but it's not bad. It was crazy fun!

2/20, 4.5hrs 80 miles.

Today was an easy choice to ride the road. I hit the garage after lunch and a fun family morning, knowing I needed to change a flat on the roadie. I put it away wet and salty, so a flat change turned into complete strip and clean. The freehub really needed a clean and lube. I finally got out around 1:30. Kept a 20 mile average for over an hour, then dialed it back when I got into Chatsworth. The wind down by the blueberry farms in Tabernacle was brutal but the setting sun over the miles of red plants was cool to trip out on.

Overall the weather was amazing, roads were quiet and I enjoyed the sunset and full moon which helped me home in the dark.

There was a controlled burn or something going on in Wharton, I was really happy to smell cow shiz in Tabernacle after 45 mins of smoke in Chatsworth.

Got to give a couple of my homies a tour of my hometown. Was fun. We got super lucky and just happened to hit dead low tide and was able to ride on the beach most of the way out with a few low water crossings.

https://www.strava.com/activities/498133237 33.3 miles in 3:33:00, I should play the lottery tonight or something.

Then when I got home I rode over to wash all the salt off my bike before it disintegrated. Was packed. Washed bicycle in shower. Am dead when wife gets home.

https://www.strava.com/activities/498177620 38 minutes. Forget how the 2 ride thing works, is this 4-hours total?

All good.

Had a late brunch/lunch at Talulas in Asbury Park. I would rate the pastrami hash bowl a 12 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Took a table outside to avoid a long wait for a table and to keep an eye on the bike. I don't think they ever expected that...

Late start and much puttering amount had me returning in the dark with only my prescription sunglasses. Crushed a few potholes but no lives were lost.

Also sympathize with the blurry part. I recently gave in to needing them, but absolutely can't ride in the two pairs I have, need to up my riding glasses game.

I should have purchased transitionals but at the time I purchased my glasses transitionals were not polarized. Should have put the clear riding glasses in my pocket just in case.....

The chafe was not due to no chammy cream but just the ass coming to terms with the saddle on the new SS, frankly it concerned me for a while but settled in ok.
