Robot Lords of Tokyo, SMILE TASTE KITTENS!

The Moped
Okay, time for a training thread of my own. I don't train actually, I'm fat. I need to lose like 10-20lbs to not be fat but I really have no desire to be biker skinny 🙂

I think I see this happening with Norm but drawing lines across maps with the GPS by bike is a huge motivational thing for me. I'll motivate myself to do extended parts of loops or not give up because I want so bad to see the GPS trail when I'm done all filled out 🙂

Now that winter is coming, my line drawing is going to go downhill considerably and I'll have to get on my horrible exercise bike. No worries though, I have a season and a half of Top Gear and WRC Rally to catch up on. I've managed somehow not to find out who won what races in rally, or watch a single episode of the best TV show on earth. Miraculous! But now that my fitness is like double that of last year, I burn through these episodes really fast so I'll have to find other crap to watch while I peddle.

So my stupid training non-fat blog will start off just documenting what I eat and where I ride, and hopefully I get yelled at enough here to straighten myself out a bit and actually drop those 20lbs.

I'll start this off at the beginning of the month on my better rides, just to add some content.
I'm going to get a heart rate monitor so you guys have a better idea of my lack of fitness.

Last Wednesday I had to do some work up at SingSing so I drove up the road a bit and hit up Blue Mountain.

I rode all of MYX Master so the mileage was really slow to gain.

No exercise on Thursday

Friday I got up in the dark to go meet Norm and Matty at Round Valley
This place killed me, no motivation to climb the hills except I tried really hard to not have Norm wait too long for me. That place needs some singletrack so I can enjoy a reward going back down those killer hills.

Distance: 9.14 mi
Elevation Gain: 1,788 ft

At the end of the day I ate probably 4,000 calories worth of dinner. 4 fajitas, a few pounds of greasy chips and 2 cups of rice. I'm a glutton 🙁

Sunday I did the Mahlon loop with Matty and like 20 other people from the board.
I've never gone over the bars so many times. I really need to address my front rim and my incorrect shock. I'm going to put my epic back together this week so I stop killing myself.

Yesterday I got up in the dark again and rode the royal hunting grounds with my friend Ashley,
Time: 02:08:22
Distance: 15.40 mi
Elevation Gain: 3,313 ft

Then I went out for pizza and ate a personal pizza from a local place with home made tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella. It was god damn good.
Worked late, went home and ate a few ravioli and then a big chicken quesadilla with half an avacado.

Today I got to work early in hopes of leaving early but it seems I'm not getting any work done 🙂
Started off with a bowl of coco pebbles with no milk because I ran out.
Someone brought in donuts so I ate one 🙁

Ok, I'll bite.

Your diet is dreadful. I like the name of the thread though.

And yeah, the line drawing is really motivational. But for me it won't stop when it gets cold.

My diet is terrible but I love it so much 🙁
HELP!
I won't eat any more donuts today I promise.

I also have a 40oz tea with spenda and a little whole milk so far today.

It's taco tuesday, don't take away my taco tuesday! 😀

I'd avoid splenda and the sort. Just take a week to try to get yourself into a habit of eating more small meals a day and eventually your body will follow suit and apprecaite it. As opposed to those gargantuan fatty meals you have now.

You sound like a buddy of mine who used to say shit like, "I only go to McDonalds like twice a month." Of course, he also went to Burger King twice a month, Taco Bell, and 12 other places. Just twice a month.

Learn to like plain oatmeal.

My crutch is Taco Tuesday's at macho nacho in Morristown and Friday night dinner club at Jose Tejas. <3

I wish I could transpose the story that happened to me the day before my wedding involving plain oatmeal.
It went something like this:
I got good at eating 2 minute oatmeal every morning, uncooked but with some non fat milk in it. I like the texture and I put some sugar free maple syrup on it.
I had moved onto steal cut oats, a little rougher but damn good.
The day before my wedding I got up and had little to do during the day but I wanted to relax. I sat down and ate a salad bowl full of raw steal cut oats and a crap ton of sugar free maple syrup.
As the day progressed I felt worse and worse and eventually found myself in the bathroom for 3+ hours with oatmeal coming out of both ends. It was horrible.
I haven't eaten oatmeal since but maybe it's time to get back on that horse 🙂

I can't wait, seriously. Even non car people should really really enjoy the show. It's just a GREAT show that happens to cover car content, but EVERYONE would love it. The camerawork is just stunning, nothing like a TV show, it's got million dollar movie camerawork in it.
<3 Captain Slow

I try to find a balance between stuff that tastes good and that's good for me. My rule is that I won't eat food that tastes like shit..

Norm is right, you should learn to like oatmeal, but personally, I love flavored instant oatmeal. It's tasty and simple. The penalty for flavor is small. You should eat breakfast every day - don't skip bfast. Its simple and it keeps you from gorging on lunch. I eat six times a day. It's kind of a hassle, but it works out after some time to be just second nature.

Breakfast is so awesome for you. Sometimes I eat 3 of them.

I really think you're going to have more problems from the "sugar free sugar" kind of diet. I think the burrito and taco binging is fine for now, even though you should try to control it. I would say that you're in a "taste explosion" rut that so many people find themselves in. You're at a point where everything needs to taste extreme, even when you try to be "healthy". Witness diet soda, sugar free syrup, splenda. You're going to need to seriously re-adjust your taste buds to start eating other things before you really make any progress.

Start by making all your drinks calorie free and artificial sweetener free.

Also, only make 1 major change every week or 2. The typical American (especially male) approach is to change 12 things, have none of them stick, lose 5 pounds in 2 weeks, then quit.

dude, just get the flu. i dropped seven lbs and am hovering at 191. i haven't seen 191 since 1998 when i sat next to donny deutsch in NYC.

and luke, seriously, you diet sucks worse than mine. my biggest issue is beer. i love beer but it literally WIPES OUT all the work you do in a given day. rode 25 miles? great, but you drank six beers. now you only rode four from a calories in v. calories out perspective.

and eat breakfast. i made that a habbit a couple years ago and like norm, i love it so much sometimes i eat three too! i'm either two eggs on wheat toast (390 calories), a bowl of "cereal" that is really a bunch of twigs and grass (450 calories) or instant oatmeal. one change i made recently is that i'm cooking my eggs in butter. the calorie penalty is a-ok in my book in exchange for the lack of chemicals in Pam.

and ride for fun, but ride as often as you can. i'll talk about that more in my next installment.

I got good at toning back my flavor intensive crave back when I was on the Atkins diet a few years ago. I used it to drop like 40lbs so I could actually exercise correctly 🙂
I guess I have to start weening myself off of flavor again, and I'll try some honey.
The tea is going to be hard to skip especially when it starts to get really cold out, but I'll try. I hate bitter tea, it's so bitter when there isn't any splenda.

And yes, I always eat breakfast. It's my favorite meal of the day 😀
I got a waffle maker for my wedding and I make whole grain waffles on it on the weekends. mmmmm
