Are there opinions out there for the optimal singlespeed gearing for riding/racing at Stewarts SF? Please list front chainring and rear gearing. Thx.

I raced there with a 32/18 on 29" wheels. Don't forget, wheel size matters.

I used a 32X18 with 26" wheels at one of the H2H races. It was tough, which is good for a race. If I were just riding, I would go 32X19 or 32X20 with slower riders. I'm probably the only one, but I do not like that place on a SS.

I'll be running a Rohloff in the back and a Hammerschmidt in the front so it will look like a SS...Nah really 33x19

Glad to see these responses because I ride 32-18 (26er) and I can't imagine doing Stewart on anything more difficult than that. You all just made me feel a whole lot better!

32x17 on the 26" (this was a bit tough) I did the DH40 on 32x18...better
34x19 on the 29er
And 34x19 on a 29er is the same effective gear as 34x17 on a 26 inch wheel, btw.

I ran 34x17 up there on my 26; my 29er is set up with 34x19.
