Bear activity, moving rocks around looking for food
We did the loop from Bulls Island to Frenchtown. Tow path was in great shape except the bridge over the Paunnacussing Creek on the PA side just north of the foot bridge is still out. So, we had to ride Rt 32 (River Rd) for a few miles until we could get access to the tow path just south of Point Pleasant, PA.How was it out there? Last I was out, I stopped just south of Easton, and most of the way back was detour after detour on the PA side.
Bears don’t actually hibernate. They do something called torpor. The basic difference is that their body temp does not drop and their other body functions stay at a level where they are able to wake up instantly to defend theirselves. So it’s not unheard of to see them out in the winter or to see their tracks in the snow.Bears are out of hibernation already and started looking for food? Yikes.
Of course someone has to get all sciencey and debunk our childhood learnings.... 🤪Bears don’t actually hibernate. They do something called torpor. Yes, 'Cocaine Bear' was real. Now the stuffed ursine is a Kentucky attraction: 'He's having a moment.'
The short, tragic life of Cocaine Bear is shrouded with mystery — and involves drugs, rich and powerful crime lords, and a surprising connection to Woody Harrelson.www.yahoo.com
This blows my mind. I would have never associated the rock with what actually put it there!Bear activity, moving rocks around looking for food
