20 miles today. On pace for 500 miles. Maybe tomorrow I’ll get to break out the cross country skis.

I bought an oculus recently and the boxing game is a legit workout. I played it so much the first couple days my shoulders were destroyed.

1/3
Start: 178
Goal: under 170

Plan: the last quarter of 2021 had the lowest riding hour totals in a loooong time. Mainly because I was working on two new trails in two different parks. With the return of frozen soil, my volume will likely go up just naturally. Also less snacking and continuing to build up my core strength work.

Amazing what shedding a few pounds of water weight does to you mentally. The true test of the diet will be when I'm back to work tomorrow. Now if I could just get off my ass and go do something in this cold today ...

Yep. Feel super good going into week 2...this is still motivation which will obviously be long gone by mid February and discipline will have to take over. Also the first bad weigh in is a true test for me...easy for me to say "f it" and go back to old ways.

I’ve never added up the weight on my lifting workout before (per @Patrick mention of a 20k lb workout). So I gave it a shot today and my back/bicep workout came out to 9730lbs.

Do you have an iPhone? If so, try Workout Maker. I have found this app invaluable for lifting as well as stretching.

Thanks, I’ll check it out. Honestly lifting for me these days is just keeping a baseline, no real goals.

I haven’t done shit since Friday. Kinda embarrassed to admit it.

That’s not true. I spent a few hours building a ramp for my boys. Counts for something. And true to my word, no dessert!

Week 1,Day 2 of the E2M plan. 1st time doing intermittent fasting.

I've always been a wake up and eat breakfast as soon as possible and over the last few years, consume 2 more meals and a few snacks during the day, wrapping it up around 7pm. Throw in a DIPA or 2 more than occasionally, have a busy desk job, reduced exercise then get injured. The weight gain happens quick.

To make this work, Dry Jan, morning exercise and prepped meals between an 8hr window, 10:30a and 6:30p for me. A gallon of water and black coffee only daily. A very generous list of foods is allowed in specific portions. Wife and I were already eating most of it.

I'll be following along to see if I can get any tips but I'm in the same boat. I've put on some pounds which I blame on the family etc... It would be nice to get back to a more comfortable weight. I'm going to try to do something active every day. In the past it's always focused on riding but sometimes with the family I don't have the time to do that. It might be more of riding, running, splitting wood, hiking kinda thing but it's been way too easy to blame my laziness on the weather and such. If I can control my eating habits and focus on getting some kind of workout in, I usually go in the right direction. It would be nice to get back in the 180's again. I haven't seen that for a couple years or more.

That sub doesn't cover the calories of the ride. Eat right before and after and it all ends up in your favor.

I really like tracking my food and exercise to see the boost to my daily calorie number. Of course I don't eat that full value, and by not doing so I see the benefits of my lifestyle adjustments. This also opens up my food choices to a calorie load...

Nice! You can get to a point where you can bust out rides on nothing in the gut. Make it more effective by figuring out what foods that will break the fast and load the f*ck up just before shutting it down. No CICO, just stay in the window.

Spoon of nut butter and protein shake is what i eat. Then about an hour or so later do you with some restraint.

Edit: FYI coconut oil blended in coffee in the morning is perfectly fine. Tomorrow morning after my cup of coffee i will share my blood glucose levels. You will see there zero influence from coconut oil.
