Today’s plan worked to perfection after getting to sleep in and get the morning chores done I headed out around 12:30 pm. Felt cold at first but warmed up quick. I
I got some last minute intel that CT was very lumpy but decided to check it out anyway. Sure enough it was bumpy as hell but gave it a try for a short section. Turned around and headed back right into a jack hole with his dog off the leash and I was barely staying on the trail and had to stop cause his dog wouldn’t listen to him
To move. He’s like sorry I said well that’s why dogs are supposed to be on a leash on this trail it’s the law. Of course no response.
Headed back and had to navigate past 2 people attempting to XC ski alongside the bumpy path I was on. Then I had to navigate 2 piles of dog shit wtf is wrong with people.
Made it back to the road without sliding off or tipping over and just did more neighborhood miles. Took a quick snack break at home and changed into a dry base layer because why not. Then I checked the backyard trail conditions which were a little bare in some spots so I added some Nice wet grippy snow and smoothed it with the shovel. Worked perfect. Brought the dog in the yard with me she was loving it and chased me on the bike around the loop like 5 times until she wiped out in the snow then she was beat tired and headed inside.
Went back out and did more loops to round up and get to 16 miles and 1:30 time. Decided to try and make a short video of me riding around but the camera angle wasn’t great. At least this lame attempt at a wheelie looks semi pro.
I swear I could have stayed out there longer i know it seems ridiculous but I was still smiling after 30 minutes of loops. Had to go in cause I was starving and seems I had more “chores” to do. Coincidence? Don’t think so. 🤨
In hindsight I need to check out the gravel roads down in Bedminster I think this bike can handle it with the snow pack. Might be a future thing to explore
Either way glad to get outside just in time For another weather alert and 3-5”
Of snow tmw. FU winter.
