First time in about a year that I rode with multiple people. I think I am stuck in my lone wolf ways.

1:50 Hours for another 1.5 fat point

only bonus I can claim is an awesome day to be out on the snow. Climbed to the top of Pierson and bombed down the pipeline...O...M...G by far the most exhilarating hiking experience to date! It felt just like coming down a ski slope at full speed. If the white stuff holds into next week I maybe taking a day off and do it with the Fugitive in 650b+/3.0” setup.

Only regret the horrible ruts left by quads that dag deep into the lower fire roads, I hope to be mistaken but those ruts will be there for a long time and will get even worse with erosion from the melting snow later in the week and March. I really hope to be wrong on this one.

a few more times around the local loop...ran into @Tim who had some nice success on the skinnies!

had to do today's ride in my peasant winter shoes, thanks to the BOA lace on my wolvhammer busting for the second time in a week...going to reach out to 45nrth tomorrow to see about a warranty issue...this eyelet is the offending piece

conditions were less than perfect y'day...the few inches of new snow, plus the less than ideal temps, made the going a bit tough...a few laps of fat bikes however, and last nite's freeze, made today's conditions perfecto! not sure we'll get another shot from here

this was my improvisation after the BOA lace snapped about 5 minutes into the ride...

1:32 = 1.5 points.

Today’s plan worked to perfection after getting to sleep in and get the morning chores done I headed out around 12:30 pm. Felt cold at first but warmed up quick. I

I got some last minute intel that CT was very lumpy but decided to check it out anyway. Sure enough it was bumpy as hell but gave it a try for a short section. Turned around and headed back right into a jack hole with his dog off the leash and I was barely staying on the trail and had to stop cause his dog wouldn’t listen to him
To move. He’s like sorry I said well that’s why dogs are supposed to be on a leash on this trail it’s the law. Of course no response.

Headed back and had to navigate past 2 people attempting to XC ski alongside the bumpy path I was on. Then I had to navigate 2 piles of dog shit wtf is wrong with people.

Made it back to the road without sliding off or tipping over and just did more neighborhood miles. Took a quick snack break at home and changed into a dry base layer because why not. Then I checked the backyard trail conditions which were a little bare in some spots so I added some Nice wet grippy snow and smoothed it with the shovel. Worked perfect. Brought the dog in the yard with me she was loving it and chased me on the bike around the loop like 5 times until she wiped out in the snow then she was beat tired and headed inside.

Went back out and did more loops to round up and get to 16 miles and 1:30 time. Decided to try and make a short video of me riding around but the camera angle wasn’t great. At least this lame attempt at a wheelie looks semi pro.

I swear I could have stayed out there longer i know it seems ridiculous but I was still smiling after 30 minutes of loops. Had to go in cause I was starving and seems I had more “chores” to do. Coincidence? Don’t think so. 🤨

In hindsight I need to check out the gravel roads down in Bedminster I think this bike can handle it with the snow pack. Might be a future thing to explore

Either way glad to get outside just in time For another weather alert and 3-5”
Of snow tmw. FU winter.

Tried to ride the new snow on the towpath, no success. Made it like 100 yards and turned around. Hitting the foot holes made it tough. So instead I climbed Old Georgetown. Def geared the right way, but dragging all that fat tire-ness on the road - I don't get how @jimvreeland does 100 miles doing such.

2/21/21 0pts.

Hike at Cherry Brook Preserve with the pooch. She didn't see the need to hustle as we were heading out racing the sun, but on the way back it was turbo booster time.

EPIC SNOW

Best snow all year and best weather. Also saw a immature Coopers Hawk on the way to the local trails and fell a couple of times.

Snow biking is so much more enjoyable when it is mostly packed down and I don't have to walk through deep snow. I may not be the kind of guy who would enjoy the Iditarod.

Stellar conditions. bike was hooking up on the climbs and the turns.
kinda cheating because everything was paved. there is 8" of packed on the bridges.
go get it.

*no body or bike parts were harmed on this ride.
