Because I forgot to rake the snow off the roof when we got the last 2 coatings of snow I ended up with the dreaded ice dam.
The main worry is the section over the kitchen since it’s the area we renovated down to the studs back in 2006.
Took advantage of the warm up and went up on a short ladder since this section is sloped towards the deck I can reach it relatively easy. I figure if I can cut back some of the roof ice then the gutters have a better chance to melt.
That shit was like 4-5” thick in some spots.
Man this winter sucks.

I thought about pulling out the roof rake when we got the big storm, but too much other stuff was going on at the time. Now I have death spears hanging from every edge of the house.
