2. I concur on pooping, I use a hotel (Hampton Inns are my go to on the road - they are plentiful, open 24hrs and I can usually grab a coffee)
Are we talking about checking in or using the lobby bathroom? If the latter, do you stop at the registration desk to ask first?

Lobby bathroom without check in. The Hampton Inn is solid for me as they have good parking and I am usually towing a 24 or 40 foot trailer.

I just walk in like I own the place. On average the cleanest I have found yet for a readily available establishment.

6. If you plan on going to remote sites out west 4x4 can be huge, especially in sandy areas that may flash flood (happens a lot out west and holy cow does everything change in twenty minutes)
This is very true. It can get really scary real quick. In 2021 I was in Telluride at the end of town (box canyon only one way in/out for those that don't know). We were just hanging out watching vehicles come down Black Bear pass and it was drizzling a little. Started to rain a little harder but nothing crazy. We went to leave and the only road in or out was blocked by a mud slide. My first concern was is the slope next to me going to go next. I backed up and found an area that I thought was probably the "safest" away from any water running down the side of the canyon. I only had about 1/4 of mile of road to find a place to wait it out. It took about 4 hours for the county to clear the road before we could get out. Then we had a hard time getting out of CO because one road heading East was closed due to construction. Then this was the year that I70 was closed near Glenwood Springs because of mud slides. It's a different world out there. Here you have a Wawa on every corner out there you may drive 2-3 hours and not see anything.
