i have the bontrager version of the ergons, they come in two sizes take your pick.

im not happy with the chunkys that came on my stache, havent gotten around to replace them yet (if you come on friday your welcome to take a look/ride at the chunkys)
I have these as well but they are slippery as crap when sweaty. I went back to the ergons.

I never liked foam, only rubber. I've used flanged BMX grips forever, held on with contact adhesive. My new Fatboy came with Spec lock-ons, and you know what, I love them! These go full rubber around the end so you dont have any funky metal bits where you hands go...

do you have the current style or the old style? i have both, like the newer ones better, never had a slippery bar issue, but i wear gloves year round when i ride so im sure that helps.

New style. I use fingerless gloves as I can’t grab stuff out of my pockets with my big hands. The black rubber on the under side is what gets slick.

Running Ergon GA2 fat and Lizards Skins Northshore. Both feel pretty good. Not too soft and not too hard. I got above average sized hands so the extra thickness works well. The GA2’s come in fat and nonfat size. I believe the Northshore only comes in one size.

This is pretty useless to the OP, since they're quite firm, but I'll throw the Ergon GD1 Factory into the general discussion. Ergon markets them as the "downhill" grip, but I've been loving them for XC use. They have a mini flange, lock to the bars on the lever side, and taper to a narrower diameter on the inside.

I'll also add that I wear full finger gloves, no matter the time of year. These won't make you happy if you bare hand it.

something else to note, i only run clamp on grips anymore, especially if you to ergon or otherwise shaped grips, too easy to twist a slide on grip around the bar (at least for me)

I just got Rev Grips because I head good things about them. They are touted as being suspension grips to isolate vibration. They sound like they would be right up your alley. https://revgrips.com The grips literally float over the bar ends and even twist depending on which level of softness you desire. The twisting is weird at first but already becoming second nature. I have still to test these without wearing winter gloves but they seem promising. They are also a bit pricy and there are a bunch of pieces to assemble but it wasn't too bad. https://bikerumor.com/2018/05/10/revolution-suspension-grips-the-twisty-grippy-put-to-the-test/

These look super cool. I used a similar type of grip on my dirt bike for a long time and loved them.

I’ve been super happy with DMR death grips for the last little while after years on Ergon grips.

Make certain to pound them in with a mallet as the design uses a tapered inner core instead of two locking clamps. After using this for some time, I can’t see ever riding a grip with an outer, metal band clamp.

We’ve sold a ton this year with great feedback. Softer than most and fairly durable. Hand savers in my eyes on the DH bike too.

Oury grips have been my go to since early days. Install with an air compressor; no liquids. Also, lots of cool colors.

Just ordered a set of Chunkies! Still super interested in the DMR Deathgrips because they look freakin rad.... but my hands are killing me and the Chunky looks nice and cozy. Plus the ESI's are dirt cheap... if they don't solve my problems its not a huge loss.

I'm kinda having the same problem with my grips also. I've tried Ergons, ESI, stock Pivot (I think they're actually made by WTB), and a couple of others on my Mach 6 which is my bike park bike and I'm still getting fatigued. I currently have the Ergon GE1 grips on and they're OK for now. I'm looking into the Revolution suspension grips because they're supposed to eliminate that problem but they're a bit pricy. So if you're brave enough and have the funds to try them out then go for it and give us a review of them.
