what was that 2.5 hr recording I was watching last week?
was it taken down?
If it's up, good. I had been dong searches for days and found naught. Will check again... Be nice if they did post it in entirety.

EDIT - just checked nothing on county page on the Match 7 trailside meet but plenty of stuff from after...FH meets etc.. And no result on internet searches for full video of the march 7 meeting.

Be happy to see a link if it is indeed available, thanks.
Lonerider.

It takes a village. I couldn't be happier with the work of JORBA's newest chapter in Union County and the dedication of the local riding community.

The village needs to assemble at all the FH meetings to ensure everyone knows we are not backing down.

@TheLonerider I don't think you'll find the Trailside meeting on the web. Unless someone aside from the county recorded it and posts it. The county recorded it for them to review it.

Thanks. That sucketh but it is what it is.

BTW, regarding the flags along Skytop Dr being tampered with or rerouted, whichever it is, the ones on your left as you go up into the Res are completely gone, not just gone by the road.

Should "we" be doing our own documenting (video, audio, news) - not only so the details don't get lost, but
it is actually a very good story with an ending that is yet to be written. might make a good youtube channel,
wouldn't hurt to have some additional on-the-record opinions.

I did take audio of the october trailside meet which worked out well cause when the video went online they didn't have part of it though they had most.

Not a bad idea just needs to be carefully done. Definitely would not want just anyone making a youtube video about this issue right now as that could go bad very fast. Could back fire

Bumping this for next Thursday 4/13/17 7pm.

We need more and different people at the Freeholder meetings. Four new faces last meeting were Rob, Sheryl, Stacey and Lauren, all of whom spoke quite eloquently regarding access. Union County residents, especially, should circle the date on their calendar, when there is a Freeholders meeting. They are all held in the same place on the 6th floor of 10 Elizabethtown Plaza, Elizabeth, NJ at 7pm on a Thursday night. The public comment part of the meeting is after the "regular business" and begins between 8pm and 9pm.

Here's the schedule:

http://ucnj.org/departments/clerk-of-the-board/schedule-of-meetings/

The next two regular meetings are April 13 and April 27. Circle the dates on your calendars if you want access to the Watchung Reservation for those of us who don't own horses. On a personal note, I want to thank @Shorepoints for being at every meeting to date.

Please Read: We Need To Pack This Thursday's Freeholder Meeting!!! 4/13 7pm in Elizabeth
we've been informed by the county that there will be a Watchung-related resolution up for a vote at This Thursday's meeting. We don't know whether it's positive or negative, and won't know the language of the resolution until Wednesday, at earliest. So Please: mark your calendar and spread the word to all pro-Mtb folks you know. Do everything you can to be there!! Thank you .

==========================

Good evening Chairman Bruce Bergen,

Regarding the Watchung Reservation Trails Master Plan Resolution, please allow my voice to be heard via email as yet another vigorous supporter of free access to the Reservation's trails via the medium of mountain biking. We ardently desire the same privileges now only granted to hikers and equestrians, but we have somehow been excluded from this fundamental right for so many years. It is in the very tenets of the creation of the Watchung Reservation that responsible and freedom-loving individuals are allowed the opportunity to recreate peacefully in communion with nature. Please do not allow elitist segregation to continue to negatively impact and cloud clear thinking and judgment on this matter. Vote in favor of equality for all trail users. Thank you and warmest regards.

So...

Gov't: 3 years ago: Don't worry you'll get access...soon.

3 years. No access.

New no bike signs close all the other trails in other county parks but they promise access in watchung and say they support it.

Then nothing happens.

Then they vote to pay CME extra for the bike trails.

Now they want to cancel the bike trails.

Does CME have to return the money they got then?

Let's hope it doesn't come to that. Forwarded the JORBA email re the meeting to many people, hoping to attend myself, despite much disgust and total lack of faith in our political establishment.
