Steve Vai
Endurance Guy: Tolerates most of us.
So if any of my fat bike peeps have been waiting for these, they're out now. I've had a set on backorder for a bit and they just came in yesterday.
Things that are cool about them.
- Although they are 4.7s, they actually measure more like a 4.25. That means they'll fit in nearly every bike on the market. They clear in the 170mm Fatback with no issues.
- They use a cool Silica Rubber compound that sticks to ice and snow, just like snow tires for the car. I've only ridden them once so far, but I immediately noticed a difference from the Escalator/BFL combo I normally run in the snow.
- Tubeless. They're actual tubeless tires. Seriously. Why is no one else doing this?
- Relatively lightweight. 1,240 grams for a fairly aggressive tire is pretty good. I didn't add any weight to my bike going to "winter mode".
Looks like we'll have a good week for me to push these through their paces so stay tuned...
-Jim.
