Tube / Tire size fit

I'm putting narrower tires on my bike, going from 2.3 mountain tire to a 1.5 road tire.
Can I use the same tube? It's 2 -2.5 I got it in there and pumped up, so just wondering,
should I change it, or leave it?

It doesn't know any better, it's 19 years old.

I 2nd the notion to leave it. If you got it inside the tire and its pumped up holding air, I consider that success.
