Totally random refrigerator question

I just got a mini fridge and there are two Cooper tubes in the back that have foam on them.

I can’t find any indication whether i am supposed to take them off (ie, they are there just for protection when in the box) or if I am supposed to keep (maybe provides insulation to the tubes?)

Thoughts?

These days it seems that anything to be removed will have 37 stickers on it to remind you.

if its a fridge those are either high or low pressure lines, the high pressure lines will be warm and the low pressure cold(er) you decide which one you think you would want insulated or not. . . you should be able to run it and feel the tubes gently, (if it were me i would remove it from any warm/hot lines and leave it on any colder lines)

Leave them on. Plug it in. If they start to melt or smell, unplug, take them off, then plug back in. If not, you good.

That was my overriding thought ... if these were meant to come off there would be big stickers but the foam was the same as the packaging so....

If that's insulation its a really bad wrap job. The black stuff is the insulation. I vote for packing material. Surprised there are no stickers too.

take off - put on the top tube, and handlebar brace on bmx bike.

+1 for team packing material. I really don’t see a company halfassing insulation that badly.
