That last pic is the difference. Last snow I followed up a skinny rider and same thing once the going goes up you have hike. Which I saw on every little incline. I haven't had that yet unless I was physically not fit enough.

I was out riding in about 6" of powder this morning. I hit up a local golf-course and a couple other off-road stretches. I was on 4.8" tires. The key was to keep some momentum and I could cut threw it. But, if I stopped it was a challenge to get going again. Needed to do a sort-of CX mount and then I could get rolling again. Also, I needed to avoid turning the front wheel too sharply or it would wash out real easily. So, I'd say, I was about at the limit of enjoyable riding at 6". I was on a couple of roads that had been plowed early, but then had a few inches of new snow. That was a perfect depth to really enjoy.

That must've been quite an effort just getting to the circle. Looks like I won't be riding Waway for awhile.
Couldn't get it going today, just too much of a good thing, at Ferber circle.
Just truck tire tracks, that's all, I was hoping for snowmobile tracks.
Between 10 and 12 inches of snow

The Moped
Where's that?
Great Peice Meadows in Fairfield. It's a hidden gem, and nobody can figure out if you're actually allowed to be there or not, and there is no parking anywhere. But it's 2,500+ acres and 25 miles of quad trails.

Cool. I've looked at that place and, to your point, not been able to find any information. Sounds like you need to park nearby and ride in. Nice option to explore in the future.
