TM in Wildcat - Update

The "no work" period due to bird nesting is over so we can resume work on new trails. If you have not already found it, there is a new section of the BGT (blue) that has been opened. The intent is to continue with this single track over the hill to the old chevy? and eliminate all the doubletrack. We finished another 80' this weekend but could use more help.

Due to the restriction that all volunteers be WCC registered, we would like to establish a core group of individuals that can help on an ongoing basis rather than "walk-ins". Details for joining here:

We are always open to suggestions on trail improvements in Wildcat Ridge WMA.

Please realize however that there are limits on what, when and how much we can accomplish due to rules, regulations and procedures. We would like to encourage everyone to perform trail work under either JORBA or the NYNJTC organizations as the land manager for this area is very busy. They have responsibility for everything north of Rt78, and with a staff of only 8 do not have much time to discuss trails.

On other news, has anyone noticed that the Iron Ore car has been stolen?
Any information would be appreciated.

Looking forward to better trails in Wildcat

Planning to continue work tonight on the Beach Glen Trail (Blue).
Suggest parking at the location shown below.
Walk up the Blue trail, turn right at the "T" towards Meridan.
If you cross the boardwalk, you went the wrong way.

Bring water and tools if you have them ( pulaski, McLeod")

Wasn't there a JORBA ride scheduled for 9-10-2011? I don't see it on the list anymore, and that was one ride I was definitely planning on being at :hmmm:

Great new section.

There's a couple of trees down by the cemetery if anyone is willing to walk up with a chainsaw. There was already a tree down with a reroute but now there's a couple of new ones that block the entire trail. Must have been a downdraft in the last storm.

Thank you for the update. One of our volunteers was up there tonight and cleared the trail.
