they last a lot more than 10 years with proper maintenance, my dads is from 97 and still works great.

Mines a 97 too. I don't think newer stuff is meant to last that long anymore. But it must be crap if it doesn't last at least 10 years. Especially in NJ.

Our tv broke 3 years ago and we never replaced it. Now I don’t miss it one bit. A total time suck.
