The Tour de Turtle

Been playing around with this idea in my head for a while...

a 100+ mile mixed-surface ride hitting:

Many parks (huber, hartshorne, allaire, Thompson, bayonet, holmdel, Tatum, poricy)

View of NYC skyline via Atlantic highlands

Seven bridges road

Ocean ave from long branch all the way down to Manasquan inlet

Manasquan reservoir

Bell labs

Tried to connect with most bike- conducive roads I know (this is subject to change as I'll do some test rides)

Looking to do this some point in the spring

As I figure out a date I'll post it here

Let me know if interested

good question. I'd say it will certainly not be fast but wont be painfully slow either.

for comparison - last month I did about 2/3 of the ride (https://www.strava.com/activities/1325983532) - basically the road only (with some trail cut thrus I believe) - didnt do the parks or do highlands/ atlantic highlands). averaged about 15 mph overall. that should give you a general sense of the pace although I would anticipate a slower pace for this ride due to longer mileage, more climbing and the trail portions. the pace will be slower and the due to those factors (e.g., trail riding) the average mph will be considerably lower than 15 mph
