We had a snow day today, so I went on an MTB epic. It was super nice out when I started, but then it started to snow, then sleet, and then freezing rain on the way home. Still a little icy, and I had a good crash, but a good day. I recently got a GoPro 7 Black and I was fiddling with it a bit.

Last night I was peeping the weather and road conditions to see if a snow ride was going to be in the cards, which would be based on what the temp did over night. Wake up and the temp was at 33, hmmm, probably not enough to firm things up but also not warm enough to melt all the sketch on the roads. Opt'ed for mtb and headed to core creek. The way I go in is through some farm fields with maybe a 3% grade "hill", and immediately, it was running on the hill. Mounted back up in a flat section and then as soon as it went back up, running. Slowly made my way through some woods and was maybe 50/50 riding/running. Hit a road crossing and dumped out before getting into Core Creek proper. Big ole fart noise. Rest of the ride was road and some canal tow path, which the smooth surface of the towpath was ok to ride, just slow. Going back through Core Creek on the park road, I was in one tire path and decided to switch to another while going downhill and ended up laying it over. The annoying part about that was I was instantly drenched. Oh wells. Possibly tonight it will firm up. It never ceases to amaze how a 1/2” of slush can own your ass.
