can we get 1 win in the last week of the season please? PLEASE!
ushering in the jerry manuel experiment.

I remember in 2008 discussing the collapsing economy with my brother while we were hanging out in NY, and saying something like "well, it can't get much worse." And then on the train ride home, he texts me to tell me that Jerry Manuel was the new Mets manager. All he did was say that and add, "It just got worse."

thinking donaldson is too old.

machado had a slightly down year, but he's young.
Moustakas had a good year, cause contract?

Vientos, is the kid ready? Had to look him up.

Sign me up for Machado!

incredibly, winning is probably the solution to the problem, not savings.

I don't care what he does, I can't root for Reggie Miller. View attachment 62583

But you can follow him on Strava ...

I had no problem with Reggie as a player. Of course, I'm no Knick fan so that's probably part of it.

As for Chipper Jones, I actually had a text conversation about him with my brother today. I didn't realize how good he really was at his peak. He fell off precipitously after his 35th birthday, but before that he was very, very good. I always knew he was good, but I didn't realize how good. He was consistently one of the best hitters in baseball for almost 15 years (one off-year in 2004 where his OPS dipped.) Considering his era and the fact that he had a believable drop-of in performance as he got older, that puts him up there as a legit candidate for "best of his generation".

And yes, I died a little inside just typing that.
