2x2 welded wire with poly coat
Will use a tension wire kit on top and bottom. Lots of bowling ball sized basalt. Contractor said they would also need to hand dig and would be 6k, saving 4 doing it myself across 2-3 weekends

is that savings before or after the kegs of beer you had to buy for motivation??

Those are some good friends!

Anyone have any experience with these or similar?
YdroStop whole house water shut off

I like the concept- it uses flow rate to identify a leak,
doesn't require electricity, and provides whole house coverage.

I have no experience with these, but it looks like an interesting product. I'd be concerned with accidental trips from things like sprinklers, long showers, etc. I guess if you set it for 1 hour and have a real leak for that time it's better than 4 days of leaking.

Also, this might be of interest:

I finished my kitchen. Some of the grout is pretty fucking discolored (darker) in some spots by the window, no idea why that happened. But I think only I would notice that.

Do you really need a kitchen for Chipotle catering?

Looks good Luke! When's the kitchen warming party?

Looks good @gtluke. What's the overall dimensions of the room?

Wish I could have done this type of kitchen project instead of an emergency rebuild. Now I know where to get some advice when the time comes!

We have a hoop!!
@Roadie popped in to help out, and swap some beers. MMMM, vermont beer.

Had to rent a material lift to get everything into place. arm, backboard and rim probably weighed in around 200lbs

Time to paint the key and 3 point line.

anyone know where I can rent pneumatic hogring pliers?
I can get a cheap pair for 300-400, but likely this will be a one time jog

checked fusco - they have a muffler bearing puller, but no pneumatic hogring pliers. might be worth calling them tho.

You just have to commit to eating Chipotle for 1 year.

Not exactly what I was hoping to do today....

LG dishwasher has been throwing an OE code with increasing frequency lately, which indicates a drain problem. Pulled it apart to check for blockages

IMG_20171217_114208.jpg

Pulled the drain hose, which I am quite familiar with. Said hose was the cause of the leak which led to my kitchen teardown nearly 1 year ago....

Blasted some water through the drain hose. This worked much better than anticipated.

End result? Still throwing a code, as an added bonus it won't complete a cycle anymore.
