Hey gang,
Just a list of some things happening at Tenafly Bicycle Workshop this year-
TBW is a great shop that is working hard for our local trail access, and still makes time to put together some great outings.
Here are the group rides they have planned, including the Gravel Camp series, and maintenance clinics.
Some rides include shuttle options from the shop and food/beverages post-ride, all rides include fun!

Group rides
May 26 - Gravel Factory (link)

9:00 AM 2:30 PM

This gravel adventure is our Intro to all-road adventures.
It’s a great tour of the Southern Hudson Valley ending at the Tilcon Gravel Factory in Havestraw, NY with short stops in Palisades, Piermont and Nyack.
This ride is no road ride by any means.
Also know as the Gran-Fon-Don’t, you will spend 20-30% of the time riding road miles but you will need some dirt skills too.
Wider 32-40mm tires recommended.
Fees goes toward grilled food and beverages at the end of the ride.
You can also join this ride for free but food and bevy’s are reserved for paid participants.

Ride time: approximately 3.5 hours
Distance: approximately 45 miles
Skill Level: Intermediate


May 27- MTB Group Ride Blauvelt, NY (link)
Beginner mountain bike group ride

This is a beginner/intermediate level ride through the trails at Blauvelt State Park in Rockland County.
This is a fun ride, no worries.
Transportation to and from the shop available.
Post ride food and beverages will be available if you have time.

A fully functional mountain bike is required. Full suspension recommended.

Ride time: approximately 2.0 hours
Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate


June 9- Columbia Trail (link)

The Columbia Trail strings together forests, farms and parklands as it stretches 15 miles among the small towns of High Bridge, Califon, Long Valley and Washington. We will ride an out and back course giving us a chance to see the entire trail in both directions.
Parking at the North Entrance of Columbia Trail at 42 Bartley Rd, Chester, NJ 07930
Fees goes towards transportation and post ride beverages and food.
You can just join us for the ride but food and bevies will be hoarded ;)


Ride time: approximately 2.5 hours
Distance: approximately 30 miles
Skill Level: Beginner


June 24- MTB Group Ride - Sterling Forest, NY (link)
Intermediate mountain bike group ride

3:00 PM 7:00 PM

This is an intermediate level ride through the trails in Sterling Forest in Rockland County.
This is a fun ride although the Sterling terrain is not beginner friendly.
Post ride food and beverages will be available if you have time.
A fully functional mountain bike is required. Full suspension definitely recommended.
Transportation to and from the shop available.
Meet at the shop at 2:00PM to shuttle or at the trailhead at 3:00. Wheels down at 3:15.

Ride time: approximately 3 hours
Skill Level: Intermediate


June 30- Paulinskill Trail (link)

For a dose of rural scenery, we will head to the northwest corner of New Jersey,
where this 27-mile rail-trail cuts a nearly uninterrupted path along the banks of the Paulins Kill,
a Delaware River tributary that gives the trail its name.
(Kill is from the Dutch and refers to a creek; it is used in areas of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware).

We will test our endurance today increasing our mileage from the previous ride.
Fees goes towards transportation and post ride beverages and food.
You can just join us for the ride but food and bevies will be hoarded ;)


Ride time: approximately 4 hours
Distance: approximately 45 miles
Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate


July 14- Tour of the Gunks (link)

7:30 AM 5:00 PM

Epic, 100% dirt, intermediate climbing.
This ride covers almost every carriage road in Minnewaska State Park and much of the Mohonk Preserve.
This is a 50-60 mile day. Lunch and beverages will be provided at the halfway point.
Beware of scenic overload!

This trip is all inclusive.
Fee’s goes towards transportation, day passes, gourmet mid ride lunch and cold beverages, and post ride beverages too!

Ride time: approximately 4 hours
Distance: approximately 50-55 miles
Skill Level: Intermediate


July 28- Cold Spring Epic (link)

This is some serious climbing (approximately 100 feet per mile).
This ride is 50% dirt 50% low traffic paved roads that leaves out of Cold Spring, NY and winding its way through Putnam County.
This ride is about the miles and awesome roads with some scenery along the way.

Fee’s goes towards transportation.
Meet at the Cold Spring Depot for the ride and join us for a round of beverages after the ride.
You’ll need it!

Ride time: approximately 4.5-5 hours
Distance: approximately 50 miles
Skill Level: Intermediate


Maintenance Clinics
May 28- Bike Maintenance Clinic (link)
This clinic will cover how to take care of your own bike.
Everything from chain care and tire pressure to proper washing techniques on all bike types.
This one-hour FREE Clinic will go over the basics of maintaining your bike all year long.
We will go over everything from wheel and tire removal to minor gear adjustments.

This clinic will focus on basic mountain bike cleaning and service intervals.
