Take a Thomson, leave a Thomson. Seat post swap!

Ever since the US moved to fiat currency, some economists and politicians have longing for a return of the gold standard. I once proposed a Thomson seatpost standard, in which the dollar was pegged to the 1/50th of the market value of a used Thomson Elite seatpost (which has been about $50 for as long as I can remember), but could not get the bill through congress.

Instead, what about a Thomson seatpost swap thread: take a Thomson, leave a Thomson.

Have :
31.6 Masterpiece straight, black 350mm
31.6 Elite straight, black, cut to about 300mm
31.6 Elite straight, silver, cut to about 360mm

Want: 27.2 setback, black 350mm or longer

Playing ignorant as I don't think I ever had that size.

30.9 or 27.9
I had a goofy size once and I can't remember which bike but it wasn't 31.6.

31.6 is a pretty common carbon road and Mtb size. Not so much for steel.

Thomson makes some real wackadoo seatpost sizes for uncommon tube sets. Some Pegoretti's take something like 29.4 or 30.8 or 33.3333333333.

Couldn't help it. Looks so good slammed on the cross bike. But 120 was to long. Stuck with the 100mm -17
