Things are shaping up for the summer trail building season in Sterling Forest. The full time crew members are being trained now. Regular 5 day a week building is set to begin again on June 1. With increased manning over last year we hope to see completion of the Redback-Hutchinson-Eagle loop this year.
The trail between Long Meadow road and Redback has been named Hutchinson and was officially opened in March. Redback section C on the below map still needs work. It also became apparent this mud season that some of the woods road on Hutchinson between Redback and section F will need remediation. Other than that the rest of the trail stood up extremely well to its first full winter. On the Eagle portion of the loop (G-K) the trail is brushed out and in various states of digging almost to the power line on section G, giving a strong start to 2017.
