they make dropper posts as short as 100-125mm ya know(which should theoretically have 25-50mm less post sticking above the collar), what seat post diameter and overall length do you need?

I would have a Gravity Dropper Turbo on all of my bikes if they them internally routable.
Do you want a dropper post that works all the time and never has any issues, or do you want one that needs yearly service and will likely stop working in the middle of a ride? This is rhetorical, I already know your answer.

I think this is made by TranzX, which made the stock one for my Giant XTC. The lever sucks, but I'm guessing you're gonna use a shift lever anywho.
(clears throat) I mis-measured. The tower has clearance. I'm passing on the the 400gram Specialized XCP for the more robust, and 130gram heavier PNW Rainier. Now to gut the rs505 lever and start drilling holes
