Song lyrics that might have been ok at the time but in 2016...?

heard two songs recently that made me think of this topic... Song lyrics that might have been acceptable at the time but in 2016... Not so much

1. Haven't heard rod Stewart's "tonight's the night" in probably 20 years. But it came on and I was singing along to every word until this lyric came on...

"Don't say a word my virgin child
Just let your inhibitions run wild"

... And I just thought "ewwww!"

2. Lou reed "take a walk on the wild side". First off, what a great song.
Such a unique sound. Even better with ear buds as you can hear more than just the baseline and drums that are prominent. Any how the following lyric sticks out (although not sure if Lou reed was being an
Ironic hipster way before that became a thing)....

"And the colored girls go 'do do do...' "

The Flintstone's theme song:

Flintstones. Meet the Flintstones.
They're the modern stone age family.
From the town of Bedrock,
They're a page right out of history.

Let's ride with the family down the street.
Through the courtesy of Fred's two feet.

When you're with the Flintstones
Have a yabba dabba doo time.
A dabba doo time.
We'll have a gay old time.

So instead I've got a bottle and a girl who's just fourteen,
And a damn good case of the Mexicali Blues. Yeh!

"Carlos and Carmen Vidal just had a child
A lovely girl with a crooked smile
Now they gotta split 'cause the Bronx ain't fit
For a kid to grow up in
Let's find a place they say, somewhere far away
With no blacks, no Jews and no gays

There but for the grace of God go I"

Related song from Winger:

"Seventeen"

Yeah, I saw sparks fly
From the corner of my eye
And when I turned
Ooh, it was love at first sight

I said, please excuse me
I didn't catch your name
Oh, it'd be a shame
Not to see you again

And just when I thought she was comin' to my door
She whispered sweet and brought me to the floor
She said

I'm only seventeen (seventeen)
But I'll show you love like you've never seen
She's only seventeen
Daddy says she's too young, but she's old enough for me

Mmm, come to my place
We can talk it over
Oh, everything
going down in your head

She said take it easy
I need some time
Time to work it out
To make you mine

And just when I thought she was comin' to my door
She whispered sweet and brought me to the floor
She said

I'm only seventeen (seventeen)
You ain't seen love, ain't seen nothing like me
She's only seventeen
Seventeen

Such a bad girl
Loves to work me overtime
Feels good, ha
Dancing close to that borderline

She's a magic mountain
She's a leather glove
Oh, she's my soul
It must be love

I'm only seventeen (seventeen)
Girl, she gives me love like I've never seen
She's only seventeen (seventeen)
Daddy says she's too young, but she's old enough for me (seventeen)
She's everything I need (seventeen)
Daddy says she's too young, but she's old enough, old enough for me
Yeah, yeah, yeah

The Stones had a few, I'll just mention the tunes and leave the research to the reader:

Some Girls
Star Star (formerly named Starf**ker)

With that said, at one time they had to change the lyrics to Let's spend the night together to Lets spend some time together for the Ed Sullivan show.

i am talking about songs that have lyrics that may have seemed cute at the time but now with the cynical gaze of 2016 the lyrics are either wildly inappropriate or downright creepy. Like this little ditty about incestual statutory rape....

Chuck Berry Sweet Little Sixteen 1958, then he's convicted of transporting minor across state lines in 1959, basically plead down from statutory rape. He should have been singing Sweet Little Eighteen maybe.

How about "...that deaf dumb and blind kid, sure play a mean pinball"

taken out of context, this seem really bad.
while there aren't any good interpretations on the interweb (i just checked) IMHO always saw it as one person, or group,
that is laser focused on a goal, can achieve it. the people who say it can't be done, need to get out of the way of the
people that will do it.
