I saw her yesterday glaring down at me. I was on the middle red trail come from Chimney Rock Rd towards the Parking Lot on Newmans. A big shadow on the ground caught my eyes as I was riding down the banked turns near where the Orange Flags stop. I stopped and looked around and a Blue Jay was dive bombing her directly above me in a tree. By the time I got my phone out she had taken off. Definitely a Red Tail Hawk.

I was there this afternoon and there seems to be a cease fire in effect. The Scare Eyes make quite a fashion statement, though.

Rode through middle Red yesterday, hawk was squawking away, but didn't dive bomb. Kudos to hawk - she's doing her job, baby hawk is safe, and mtb-ers are cool

Saw a big shadow overhead while riding upper red, pic sucks but it's her. Careful riding solo early morning for a few months.
