The Red Bank Register published its first issue July 1, 1878.
This is actually pretty cool, IMO. You can search the word "bicycle" and get lots of news of that era.
Like news on the bicycle club Wheelmen, who held races and events and had other info published.

OK, just one more....I typed in "wheelmen" in the year 1894
They had a 100 mile race in New Jersey in the summer on a 100 degree day with 300 riders! @jimvreeland

Wow, that's awesome. This weekend it was 100 degrees and 25 people showed up for the 25 mile State TT.
