Publix Bakery cookies are the best

ever get the feeling ice cream doesn't last long either.

btw - freihoffers (sp?) are better soft cookies than publix.
whatever ingredient they use to keep them soft for a week must be totally safe.
maybe xanthum gum? (which is naturally occuring btw)

xanthan or guar gum are binders (we use xanthan in toothpaste). Wouldn't have mych effect on chewiness - that's a function of water content

although it is in the cookies...and wallpaper paste.

perhaps to keep the dough/batter from separating before cooking?

My wife brought home halo top the other day.....Now I pride myself on the fact that I am a human trash compactor who can eat most anything....I fucking HATE coffee ice cream, but its still ice cream and I could plow thru a half gallon of it before I ever noticed it was coffee flavored.....However, halotop if fucking gross.....Reminds me of that old diet ice milk shit from back in the 80s.
