Medium framed hardtail

Hey guys, My son has outgrown his Specialized Hardrock Disc. small and I am looking it replace it with a Medium/larger framed hardtail. Looking for a Cheap option since this is a second bike to his full suspension bike and is used for biking to scout camp and friends houses to the good bike doesn't get ruined or vanish.
I have no issues working on bikes so something that needs a little TLC is perfectly fine as well.
As a reference He is 5ft4" with a 30" inseam at 12 going on 13..

Sorry the hardrock was sold and I did buy a new replacement so this post can be closed.
