Speaking of winter weather, on this morning's drive to Chester I was surprised to see snow on the ground and on top of cars. Ugh... stinkin NJ

@jShort What did you get? And is it everything you hoped it would be.

I bought this ornot jacket.

https://www.ornotbike.com/collections/mens-outerwear/products/2016-thermal-jacket

It's almost too warm, but for these days it's nice. If it had pit zips it would be perfect.

I also bought this Voler thermal vest, which I think is a better, more versatile piece.

This over a LS jersey and base on good into the 20's.

@jShort Long sleeve jersey, no base layer with the jacket.
Or base layer no LS jersey?

Went out NYD 11°-13° LS base layer .LS thermal jersey and PI jacket.

That jacket and a wool base is it. That's what I used on NYE when it was single digits and was fine. It's totally wonder proof almost to a fault.

I think I should have gotten the jacket sevenz posted, but I had already ordered this.

I know a place in Chinatown that will install pits for u real cheap and maybe even throw in a massage.

I need to get a wool base layer.
I'll try that with my jacket first.
All they have is xs jackets left in stock and the vest is back ordered.
Fleece base layer is the bees knees , got some at campmore for work but found they are warmer than the smart wool base layers and much cheaper.

The Gore jacket is awesome. I have 2 weights. A Phantom for 30-50ish degrees and a Tool for under that or if I don't want any layers. I did Tuscobia at - 20 with that jacket with only a windproof base under it. Phenominal jacket.

I have the same exact setup. I have 3 Phantom SO jackets and 2 Gore Tool Jackets. The Phantom has sleeves that come off and the Tool has vents that zip under the arms. Only one way zippers though.

They have some here, but they are priced at a premium: http://www.goreapparel.com/gore-bik...ool-windstopper-soft-shell-jacket/JWFUST.html

I have one jacket, and it's only a windbreaker shell, super thin. I just wear 2-3 layers under it, and I almost always take it off fifteen minutes into the ride because I get too hot. Jackets are overrated.

I've got a contest, phantom, and tool. Each has a optimal range depending on what's underneath. The Tool is warm, but maybe I'm a wimp as I just don't see it as THAT toasty.
The tool is a little bit warmer than the Phantom, but I almost always were a duofold base layer. i usually use the tool when it is below freezing.

I wore one of the others with a base then fleece today, seemed like a good idea when it was single digits but felt awkward later on. Looks like it's Tool, then base layer from now on.
Reminds me-I should post in the cold riding gear thread.
