kayaking the canal

This is probably an obscure question but here goes. Does anyone kayak the canal? Is it even possible/allowed?

I do all the time, been messing around in the canal since I was a little kid. I've had all kinds of boats in there, just electric motors only. The millstone river is another close place that's fun to kayak and canoe as well, especially since the dam in Manville is gone. No restrictions on the river but it's easy to lose a prop there.

Yes some bridges leave little clearance depending on how much rain has fallen but it’s a nice smooth paddle devoid of wind, chop and other momentum killers.

Thanks for the responses guys. I’ll have to throw the kayak on the rack one of these days and check it out.
